My DVD drive scratched up my GW:EN DVD
So, as the title said, my DVD is fubar, ive tried everything, its a dud, my question is, if i buy the pre release bonus pack (ebay) can i use it as an installer? (my net is pretty slow, and waiting 10 min to enter a town gets annoying).
Also, would i get the pre release bonus weapons if i added the code? Ty for reading |

As far as I know, you can just add your key to your account. You don't need the dvd, and yes you get the items.

Wow, fast respond time, thank., The reason i need the DVD is because downloading The game from the server takes ages, what i needed to know was if the Pre release pack contains the entire game (minus updates ofc) so i wont have too download megs of content every time i move area. I already have registerd my GWEN game, i just need the bonus as an installer.

If you're internet connection doesn't charge you for time being connected, you can use the -image link to download alot of things while you're not playing.

^ Yeah the dvd or cd have the game data on it, movie clips and so on. GW:EN dvd has the newest data, well not really new anymore since there're few updates. But for people with slow connection speed, installing from GW:EN's dvd then download the rest of the data is a lot faster.

Also the worst part is that i have to download ALL the SAME data for any of my other char's to get to GW:EN which i dont have to do with any char's visiting factions or nightfall where ive already been for eg. Would anyone have any answers as to why that should be? Last edited by Titanium; Sep 28, 2007 at 04:52 PM // 16:52.. |

Once you have downloaded the data, you shouldn't hve to download it again.

You're decompressing, not downloading. If you installed from the GW:EN disc, your gw.dat is up to date as of a few weeks ago. The only things you are downloading are the few recent updates. After that its decompressing, a lot of decompressing as the .dat off the disc and the updates are all compressed files. Use the " -image" command switch mentioned above to decompress your gw.dat as well as download all the updates.
